The much-anticipated “Battle of Dreams – Old Boys’ T20 Cricket Encounter” between St. Aloysius College, Galle and Holy Cross College, Kalutara was successfully held on 24th May 2025 at the Surrey Grounds, Maggona.

The Holy Cross College team, captained by national cricketer Crusader Praveen Jayawickrama, faced off against the St. Aloysius College team led by Mr. Diva Sampath. Despite unfavorable weather conditions that reduced the match to a 10-over game, the spirit of sportsmanship and brotherhood shone brightly throughout.

Batting first, St. Aloysius College posted a total of 100 runs in 10 overs, with Ashen Bandara contributing a solid 41 runs. In response, Holy Cross College showcased a dominant performance, successfully chasing the target in just 8 overs, with Crusader Umayanga Swaris delivering a brilliant 60 not out, guiding his team to victory.

The event not only celebrated competitive cricket but also strengthened the camaraderie between the two proud institutions, marking another memorable chapter in the “Battle of Dreams” series.
